FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT SINCE 1928

In 1928 Verne McCullough opened a wrestling arena in Salt Lake City where entertaining matches (like WWE) would take place in front of large crowds. This was the beginning of what would be a family of entertainment ventures.

In 1958 Verne McCullough opened Ritz Classic Bowling on State Street in Salt Lake City. It was arguably the largest bowling center West of the Mississippi, and its sign (now a landmark in Salt Lake) was the largest bowling pin in the world. During the early 1970’s half of the Ritz Classic Bowling building was converted to a roller-skating rink. It was the birth of 'Classic' roller skating.

In 1978 Classic Skating opened in Orem, UT and has been a staple of the community ever since. Major renovations in 2011added an additional 30,000 square feet with new attractions such as state of the art bounce houses, a climbing port, arcade games, and laser tag. It was clear that Classic was no longer just a skating rink, but a true Family Entertainment Center. Classic Skating became Classic Fun Center and the mission of bringing affordable entertainment to families continued.

WHO ARE WE?

Since day one, we have recognized a need in our communities for entertainment that is affordable and worth repeating. We noticed from the beginning that families and individuals who frequently participate in recreational activities see improvements in their social, physical, and mental health, so we set off on a journey to improve lives by making that recreation more accessible for people everywhere.

We believed that every moment in our skating rink would become a great memory. The thing is, those memories come back to us. We remain a birthplace for memories from the time a child can walk all the way until they can’t. These memories extend to the incredibly talented individuals who make up our staff.

We're building something here that may not be a massive theme park, but a place where families and individuals can go to connect or celebrate/escape what life is throwing at them. We're making it possible at a financial and entertainment level for people to visit over and over and experience an increase in happiness. It's my mission to improve the lives of our people - our staff and our guests.
